Editing & Proofreading
Do you sometimes feel that your written English isn't quite as good as you'd like it to be?
I get it. Good English is hard. Conducting business in English is even harder - the stakes are high and clients expect the very best from you.
Your job isn't to improve your English. You don't have time to agonise over the little details.
That's my job.
Editing vs Proofreading - what's the difference?
EDITING aims to make a text clear, logical, and stylistic. I want to keep your original meaning and tone of voice, so in the editing stage, I ensure a consistent style, tone of voice, and intended message. Grammar and spelling are checked, but editing focuses more on confusing wording, inconsistent tone, misused words, and poor sentence structure. If your company has Branding or Style Guidlines, I will make sure your text adheres to these.
PROOFREADING is the final stage before publication/sending a text. Here, I only care about guaranteeing there are no grammatical, spelling, punctuation, capitalisation, formatting, or layout errors. If anything was missed in the editing stage, it is corrected here.
Certain clients expect high standards in all areas of a company's service - that includes communication in English. The more fluent and professional a company's English is, the more trustworthy they are perceived to be.
Having bad English is a risk for your business.
Avoid this risk by having me, an English native speaker, edit and proofread your English texts for those annoying, little mistakes that happen from time to time.
I can ensure your business's brand is consistent in all written English communication with clients by editing all forms of written English you may have - websites, emails, CVs and cover letters, posters, brochures - you get the idea.
